How to use the checklist
- Get your free reports from all three bureaus at AnnualCreditReport.com. Save and print each one.
- Go section by section. Tick each line once it looks right on that bureau's report, and circle anything that looks wrong. Our guide to common credit report errors explains what to look for.
- Gather proof for anything you circled, like statements or letters from the creditor.
- Dispute inaccurate items yourself, for free. Follow the step-by-step dispute guide and use the dispute letter template.
